Model Number: 400 series Brand: Kenmore Age: 1 - 5 years
My kenmore 400 dryer overheats and shuts off within 5 minutes. Almost as soon as you turn it on you can smell a burnt wire smell. I have inspected all wiring and connections which are good. The belt is good and so is the motor. The heating element is good as well tested with a meter and visual inspection. I am however getting a reading of between .01 and .05 jumping back and forth on a cycling thermostat at room temperature. I think it should be 0. Would this thermostat be at fault here?
