Dryer lights and runs full first cycle (3 minutes lit and running, two minutes off). When dryer re-ignites, thermostat calls for heat, igniter glows, gas instantaneously lights but flame retreats back into combustion tube up to orifice and the extinguishes. The gas pressure increases and raw gas flows into dryer for approx 10 seconds until flame sensor shuts off gas flow. Have bypassed hi-limit thermostat and flame sensor. Originally replaced coil set (no success). Replaced gas valve (thought it was sticking - no success). Though low igniter resistance could create inadequate flow so replaced with no success. Last effort was to replace main board to eliminate potential bad relay (no success). Problem also repeats when vent is disconnected. Out of ideas, but problem is very repeatable. When cold it will fire the first time. Once warm, it will light instantaneously as described above. As an FYI, the gas valve was purchased from this site.
Additional information: It appears the gas flow is not strong enough at ignition. If I hold a flame (candle lighter) next to the igniter, at ignition, the candle lighter cannot keep it lit, but if I keep the candle lighter in place as the glow igniter dies the gas slowly increases to a volume that can remain lit for a full cycle.
Resolution:
Just fixed the issue. I noticed the stove was exhibiting a somewhat similar issue. Also identified that when two gas appliances were running at the same time the problem went away. Had the gas company out this evening and the gas regulator for the house was sticking. This was causing the uneven gas supply issue. Regulator issue fixed and dryer now functioning.
