Dryer heats very well but clothes are still steamy so the moisture isn't getting out. I've checked all vents for clogs and air is coming out the back when I took the hose off and it isn't twisted. I was just wondering if there was anything else I could do to fix this problem. Thanks

Check that the clothes are not too wet when putting them in the unit. Could be that it is a washer problem and not a dryer problem.

It is the amount of air flow that is important. It should be a strong flow.

Try the following to positively eliminate the vent system as the problem.
Unplug the unit and disconnect it from the vent system.
Now try a run.
If it now dries OK odds are the vent system needs checking/cleaning.
Be sure to check that the louvers on the outside of the house open correctly.

If you do not want any lint in the house.
Take a pair of pantyhose.
Put one leg into the other and then attach this to the dryer's vent.
Leave enough room so the pantyhose can balloon out like a windsock.

Both the above will let you check the temperature and the air flow.

Note: The above is not recommended for gas dryers due to carbon monoxide concerns.

If it still does not dry properly.
1. Check the lint filter. Sometimes they can get coated with fabric softener residue. Greatly reducing air flow.
2. Check/clean the blower wheel.
3. Check the holes at the back of the drum.
4. Check the internal seals in the unit's air flow path.
5. Check the exhaust air temperature on high heat. Should get up to around 155 degrees F. Your cycling thermostat opens at 155 degrees F and closes when the temperature drops to 130 degrees.

Emily, one thing not mentioned here is, vent airduct could be clogged. To check this you have to pull the lint filter out of the top of the dryer, and then remove the 2 phillip head screws. Then, you have to get on the backside of the dryer, and take the back panel off of the dryer. Then, if you are standing on the backside of the dryer on the left side, you will see the filter housing, where the lint filter slides in. There will be four 5/16 of an inch screws holding it in place. two on the rightside and two on the leftside. Remove them and slide the whole lint filter assembly out, and see if it is full of lint. That is the only thing not mentioned for you to check. Tom www.********************************************

Thanks so much. I ended up taking it off the hose and running a load and it did a lot better. We rent and they already had a dryer here and it works perfectly fine so that's so weird that it was the vent but it worked so thanks so much again
