Whirlpool dryer quit heating. I changed all 3 thermostats:

Part # 3977767 hi-limit thermostat
Part # 279816 one thermal cut-off (309 degrees) and one hi-limit thermostat (250 degrees)

Now the heating element doesn't appear to be cycling off/on. Seems to be staying on constantly. Consequently my dryer is getting extremely hot. Too hot to touch clothes. Any advice? Thanks

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for Whirlpool LER3624JQ0 DRYER | AppliancePartsPros.com

Check the heating coil.
Unplug the unit and both wires to the coil.
Check it with a meter, should be around 8 to 12 ohms.
Then check from each side of the coil to the case/frame, both should be infinite ohms (open). If not the coil may have sagged or broken and is touching the case. This can cause it to run on high and the thermostats cannot regulate it so the thermal cut-off blows.

Thanks Denman,

I think I know what the problem is. I replaced part #20 on the Diagram and Parts List ( cycling thermostat whirlpool part # 694674 ) with a Hi limit 250 degree thermostat. I am assuming by doing this, it would cause my element to constantly be running hot.
