Hello Pros,

The tumble dryer does not stay hot/warm after the first 10 minutes. I have disassembled and noted that the igniter is working and the gas valve opens and shoots out a long flame, however it tended to cycle off after 30-60 seconds and then cycle on again after another 30-60 seconds. Then after 10 minutes, the igniter cycles, however there is no gas flame. I have tested the coils and they both spec out per your recommendations. The ventilation is unrestricted.

What should I inspect/replace? The thermistor? Gas valve?

The coils often check fine with a meter but can still be faulty.
Just my experience with them.

ApplianceJunk,

Thanks for the quick reply. So my symptoms and diagnosis points towards the coils? And my first step should be to order and try those first?

I would try a set of new coils. Replace them both at the same time.

Thanks so much. Is there any possibility that it could be the gas valve, thermistor or any other part? I just wanted to order the parts to have them in case it is not the coils, so as to not leave my wife without a dryer for 2 or more weeks.
