Gas ingniter won't light
Model Number: LDG8604AAL Brand: Maytag Age: More than 10 years
Igniter in gas dryer will not light. I've ohmed out the high limit thermostat (0), cycling thermostat (0), ingniter (71), radiant sensor (open), and gas valve coils (2 term. = 1270, 3 term = 1360 & 570). Any other suggestions?

Here is your guilty party Part number: 338906 The heat sensor is normally closed switch. Thank you. Post the results. Simon.

Thanks, Simon. I jumpered across the radiant sensor and the ignitor glowed. When I removed the jumper, the gas valve opened and the flame lit. So I ordered the part number you recommended. I'll post the results when I get the part in a couple days.
