I have to tap the tops of the coils to get the burner to produce a flame. The igniter is new and works. When I tap the coils the burner will light and burn, but may go out immediately...or it may burn for quite a while. Am I looking at a coil issue or a burner issue? Thank you in advance-Kenny

Hi.

I should say you chances are about even. But most likely it's the gas valve assembly witch comes with the coils.
The gas valve Part number: 306176
Part number: 306176

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for Maytag LDG9206AAE DRYER- GAS | AppliancePartsPros.com

Thank you. Post the results.
