When my dryer is running is makes a continuous low-pitch whining sound. I recently repaired the switch on the door so I had a technician come out to see if I damaged something in my novice repair. He took the belt off and the noise continued when running. So, he said it's the motor and quoted me $250 to repair.
Note I had to show him how to remove the front panel on this stackable washer/dryer combo unit. Is this diagnostic accurate? How expensive/complicated is it to replace the motor myself?
