Model Number: GEW9250PW0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
Wife complained dryer would work intermintantly. I dissassembled ran some checks evrything apeared fine worked fine when pulled apart. reassembled stop working.
If i hold P3 with my finger with presure on the plug it functions normal. if i let off it will work but then quit. connection appears fine. no bent pins or burned terminals, i plan to replace the board and the wiring harness. But wonder if the presure is causing the board to flex and cause it to work or if it is all in the connection that could be solved by just purchasing the short harness. Ads By Google Related Models |

Disconeect power and check all of your connections to the power block. I think you may have a loose wire.

Definitely sounds like a bad connection, finding it can be a pain.
I would clean the connectors on the board and harness with electronics cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush. Just be sure all the solvent has evaporated before reconnecting. Sometimes pin contamination can cause problems often a dull gray or tan coating on the pins. Next I would get a magnifying glass. Check that all the wires on the harness are properly crimped. Sometimes in manufacturing they can crimp onto too much wire insulation. If all OK pull the control board. Check for any hairline cracks on the trails to the connectors. These are nearly impossible to find but is worth a shot. Next check for bad solder joints. Often a cold solder joint will be a duller silver/gray color. Try wiggling the connector gently while looking at the connections to it on the back of the board to see if any of the pins move. This also indicated a bad solder joint. As a last resort I would use a pencil soldering iron and reheat the solder joints on the back of the board at and close to P3.
