dryer only runns when start button is pressed

Model Number: 110.70972990 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years

My dryer only runs when the start button is pressed. Once I let go of the button the dryer stops. I taped the button down to dry my clothes but realized that there is also no heat. I replaced BOTH the heater relay and motor relay but that didn't fix the problem.
Any suggestions.

Hi.

With the timer set to dry and door closed check for 48VDC at the motor relay two pink wires while holding down start button and releasing it.
No 48VDC - replace the control board.

The dryness control board Part number: W10116564

Good luck. Post the results.
