About a month ago, I replaced the heating element to my Whirlpool dryer. Everything seemed fine and dandy until just the other day when the dryer quit heating again. I checked my vent and everything was just fine there.

However, when I removed the back panel, I found that one of the wires going to my heating element was burned/melted [Diagram A].

Also, when I tested my heating element with an Ohmmeter - it didn't work out at the leads but, one of them is burned from the wire [Diagram B]. However, when I tested the coils directly [at Diagram C], the ohmmeter indicates that everything is fine.

The only other thing I noticed was some discoloration on part of the heating element [Diagram D].

Any thoughts on this one?
