this maytag is 1 year and 2 months old already fixed the pulley coming off, now it wont heat up, everything is working,dash lights up ,it spins ,air flow out the exhaust.element is good, checked it with meter.took out the 5 lbs of lint in the body.no heat.answer?just buy a new dryer?just not a maytag,junk!

Hi.

First of all make sure that dryer is getting 240VAC.
Flip the breakers off and on.You must have 240V for the heater.

Run the continuity test at the thermal cut-off and the hi-limit thermostat( Located on the side of the heater box). If one of them is open-replace the kit.

Locate the main control board (in the control panel).
Locate the heater relay (with black and red wires).
Unplug the dryer, bypass this two wires , turn the dryer on normal.
If the dryer heats up - replace the machine control board.

thx for the info,pin pointed the problem to the stat.cheap fix,should not have to work on a dryer this new,my last dryer worked for 12 years before it quit.thanks again simon
