Liquid detergent spilled on the top of the dryer, and leaked into the crack between the panel that covers the power control board--the panel that has the control buttons on it. The interior light goes on, along with the lighted ring around the interior light control button, so it's getting power. The power on/off button, however, does not any longer work.

I tried to figure out how to open it, how to take the panel off and expose the power control board, but could not see how to remove it. I removed the only 2 screws I saw--at about 8 & 4 positions when the door is open. Removing them had no apparent effect whatsoever. Nothing loosened or came off.

What can I do? Please help. I'd appreciate any help you can provide. I have a load of wet laundry in the dryer that's getting mildewed even as I write this. :(

Thanks very much!

Hi.

First see if the simple unplugging for 24 hrs will help. If not:

Take three screws out at the back of the top panel.

Slide the top back one inch and raise it. Now you have an access to the controls.

Thank you.

Simon.
