I have a Maytag Dryer (Model MGD5870TWO). It's a couple years old and stopped getting hot. Still spins, turns on, etc. Just no heat - so the close don't dry.

Actually had a repair guy tell me it was the circuit board in the back... But I got/installed that - no dice. But I thought he was shady to begin with...

So I started looking into it myself - and took it all apart and started testing all the components. It seemed like everything was good, except for the Igniter was not reading Closed. Common problem apparently, easy fix. I got one, installed, BOOM - works! First try. (New one read closed on the multimeter)

WAIT!! - 2 weeks later, it's not heating again. I test the New igniter, and it says it is NOW - NOT closed...

So what is causing my igniters (2 now) to fail? Or is it something else completely? I thought I tested everything - but I'm no pro. I used the diagrams on this site.

PLEASE HELP! Girlfriend MAD... Can't afford new one.

Thanks
Engelbert
