I first posted this question 4/14. Still need a response.
This is a follow-up question. I replaced the drum support rollers and got the dryer back together. But now it won’t start (yes, I have it plugged in, and I have the yellow and blue wires connected correctly to the door switch). The expert answer I received was: “You will need to disassemble the unit and see if any of the wires going to the motor, or thermal fuse have come loose. If not, you will need to test the door switch and see if it is bad and replace it if needed. You can test this with a multi-meterAP3873826.” I checked the wires and didn’t see anything lose. I bought the digital multi-meter and read your online instructions but can’t figure out how to use it. The instructions with the meter have the following options: - DC Voltage Measurement - DC Current Measurement - AC Voltage Measurement - Resistance Measurement - Diode Test - Battery & Fuse Replacement
First, how do I test the door switch? Which of the above directions do I use?
What else do I test and how specifically do I do it? For example, the meter has a dial number numbers (2, 20, 200, 600, etc.); what number do I set it on to test the various components? What do I touch the black and red wire probes to? How do I interpret the reading in the window?
This should not be difficult. I just need specific, clear instructions on how do to it.

Hello. To test the door switch, you will need to set the meter on Resistance Measurement. You will need to read the manual to see where this setting is on your meter. All meters are different and I would be guessing trying to tell you what to set yours on, so the manual sent with the meter is the best way to determine this. To test the door switch, you will remove the wires and with the door closed, the switch should read closed for continuity. If the switch reads open, then the switch is bad and will need to be replaced. If you need more help, be sure and let us know and we will see what we can do! Part number: AP4319999

If it's stuck to the actual drum (usually shiny green, almost metallic) then you need a new drum unit. You will never get it clean, and taking it off will damage the drum If it's stuck to heater or transport rollers (usually black or brown) then you could try carefully picking it off, when the printer is cold.
