The drum on my dryer will not work. I can rotate it manually. It seems the heating element is working fine. When I turn the dryer on, there is no noise from the motor so I'm thinking the motor has died. If so, what needs to be replaced with the motor (plus part numbers please). Also, is this repair something that your normal person can do or should I be looking for a professional ? Thanks for any and all help.

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for Estate TEDX640JQ1 DRYER | AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the wiring diagram.

You may have more than one problem.
If you look at the wiring diagram, you will see a switch on the right hand side 2M/1M. This is in the L2 line which feeds power to the heating element. It is a centrifugal switch and closes when the motor gets close to operating speed. It ensures that the heater does not come on until there is air flow.
Since you have heat without the motor running there is either a problem with this switch or the heating element.

You will also see another centrifugal switch 5M/6M close to the motor. This switch removes the start winding from the circuit when the motor gets close to operating speed. It also provides a path to the motor's run winding so that the unit keeps running when you release the push to start.
The problem is that if this switch is stuck in the activated position you usually hear a buzzing sound as the motor is trying to start but cannot as the start winding is not in circuit.

Sometimes the centrifugal mechanism just gets clogged solid with dust and does not operate properly but I would have thought you would hear a hum/buzz. You will have to open the unit up and take a look.

I cannot say if you can repair this, it depends on your talent for mechanical things.

Estate is actually made by Whirpool. If you go to YouTube and do some searching for "whirlpool dryer repair" you should find lots of videos which should help you decide if you want to tackle the job.
