Default Gas dryer running but no heat
Model Number: LGR7648KQ1   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 5 - 10 years

My dryer runs but there is no heat. The timer cycles except on the Automatic setting. There was no glow at the gas ignitor so I replaced it. Still no glow. Any ideas ????? A sensor maybe? Any help would be much appreciated!

The first thing I would check for continuity is the thermal fuse (#7 on the bulkhead parts break down diagram).

If the thermal fuse is blown, it has to be replaced together with the cycling thermostat (#9 on the bulkhead parts break down diagram).

- The part number for the thermal fuse is AP3132867

- The part number for the cycling thermostat is AP3131939

Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool dryer Model LGR7648KQ1

Gene.

It was the thermal fuse!!! Thank you for all the links you posted also. Was a major help. Repaired for less than a service call only! My dryer now runs just like it did before...

Hi missieann33,

In order to provide the most accurate advise I need the complete model number of the dryer.

Post it as a new thread, please.

Gene.
