whirlpool gas dryer thermal fuse
Model Number: LGQ9558KQ1 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
Dryer will spin with no heat. Tested thermal fuse and it is open. temporarily shorted fuse, and unit seems to heat fine. Do I still need to replace the cycling thermostat?

You definitely need to replace the thermal fuse and would probably be a good idea to replace the cycling stat also. You also need to check out your venting also, if it's gotten slow it can cause the thermal to pop. Part number: AP3176214 Part number: AP3045874

That is another thermal on the blower. My fault for not asking which one. Other then that, you probably still ought to replace cycle stat and check the vent.
