Model Number: Series 70 110 76722690 Brand: Kenmore Age: More than 10 years
Hello,
I have a Kenmore Series 70 Gas Dryer Model 110 76722690 that does not heat. I thoroughly cleaned lint from dryer and exhasust tube as at exhaust exit was partially obstructed. Then I replaced the valve coils as that was recommended at the time. No success. Then metered the igniter and I did not seem to find any continuity so I replaced igniter. No success. Before I open it up again what else should I look for? Ads By Google Related Models |

Well, the problem is either in the electrical parts or the gas parts, and since it seems like you have taken care of the gas parts, look at the electrical parts.
Do a continuity check on the thermal fuse and thermostats. You should find the problem there, probably in the thermal fuse. If it is, make sure you also have cleaned the blower out. Good luck.

Once I opened the top control section there was a diagram that showed that there should be 10ohm Max and 10Kohm Min for the Temperature Select Thermostat between Violet and Blue. This reads as open.
I metered the thermal fuse still connected to dryer and it reads 7ohm. I am inclined to think it is the thermostat since I have already tried most of the gas parts. Anything else I should look for before ordering parts? Thanks. |
