Is the high limit sensor the one on the side of the combustion cone? With this connected, the flame shuts off after about 15 seconds, then starts again after about 3 minutes. With it disconnected, and the wires connected together, the flame stays on. Could this mean a bad part no. AP4036956?

Hello. There are two possibilities: - the thermostat is bad;- the vent is clogged. First disconnect the vent at the back of the dryer and run it with some laundry. Dries OK - problem with the vent. Still problem, then clean lint screen compartment and blower housing. If the problem exists - replace the hi -limit thermostat. The hi- limit thermostat Part number: AP4036956
