sounds like a broken belt, most likely because the idler pully disintegrated. i would buy the drive kit. it comes with 2 rollers and idler pully, and a belt. a cheap and easy repair. tom

i checked the belt, and it looks fine.while dismantling the dryer i found a diagnostic sheet.i ran a diagnostic on it and found one fault code.it says "INlet thermistor shorted".is this something that will cause my problem or do i have more than one problem? Thanks for any help

what does jump thermal fix mean.unplug the wires?in studying the spec sheet...this is the item that the fault code refers to.i took this part to a local parts supply and they said they do not stock this part because they do not go bad.a technician is coming tomorrow at 1pm.i guess i'll try to disconnect and run assuming that's what you meant.thanks for the help.

The inlet thermistor is a part of the high limit thermostat assembly and there not suppose to be any heat at all if the thermistor is bad. The major problem in my opinion is: the dryer heats up while the motor is not running. The cause of this problem could be: a bad (shorted) motor centrifugal switch or a heating element shorted to ground. It's easy to diagnose with a simple Ohmmeter. Here is the Tech sheet. Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL WED9200SQ0 | AppliancePartsPros.com - The heating element Part number: AP3866035 - The motor Part number: AP3094233 - The thermistor Part number: AP3919451 Gene.
