Default Burning smell in dryer/not spinning
Model Number: lgr7646eq2   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 1 - 5 years

My whirlpool dryer went out a few days ago.It had a burning smell like electrical and rubber together. I replaced the dryer cycling t-stat and the t-stat hi limit but they didnt work. The dryer goes on for a few seconds, makes a loud noise then clicks off. I cant find where the burning smell is coming from. Also i noticed the fan turns very slowly when it does come on.can anybody help?

Most likely the problem is the shorted motor.

- The part number for the motor is AP3094245

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool dryer Model LGR7646EQ2

Good luck.
Gene.

Default whirlpool dryer not spinning

The belt on my dryer broke. Are all Whirlpool dryer belts the same? I looked for a model # on the dryer, but nothing. Also, how do you get the belt back on? How do I get it around the drum.
Thanks

In order to provide the most accurate advise I need the complete model number of the dryer. You can find it on the door frame.

Post it as a new thread, please.

Gene.
