A few weeks ago when I hit the start button it would take a minute to "catch" and actually start the dryer.....after about a week of that when I hit the start button nothing happened (sometimes) other times it would start...But then It started to smell like something was burning....

do I just need to replace the start switch or is there more to look at

thanks
Karen

Most probably a bad motor AP4290649. You can take the motor out and bench test it with 115 volts to the right motor terminals per. the scematic. Lots of times, the motor just runs out of oil and the bearings seize.
