Received new motor for Maytag Performa Electric dryer PYE2000AYW Serial Number 10105281SW. The instructions don't mention what to do with red-wht wire that comes from the front panel thermostat attached to blower housing. It has the following instructions:

Old Motor Discrete Existing Machine New Motor
Connect Switch Harness Connect Switch
Terminal No. Function Color Code Terminal Number
1 L1 White 1/4" Thermal Protector
2 Neutral Purple 5
3 Heater Red 2
4 Heater Red 1
7 Push to Start Orange 6

Any idea where I should connect red/white wire that comes from thermostat?

I checked out the old motor and discovered the terminal the red/white wire was on is the same point electrically as the point the red wire was connected to. I suppose I will reterminate both wires together and connect to the same terminal on the new motor.
