Maytag Performa Electric Dryer repalcement motor wired different than orig

Received new motor for Maytag Performa Electric dryer PYE2000AYW Serial Number 10105281SW. The instructions don't mention what to do with red-wht wire that comes from the front panel thermostat attached to blower housing. It has the following instructions:
Old Motor Discrete Existing Machine New Motor Connect Switch Harness Connect Switch Terminal No. Function Color Code Terminal Number 1 L1 White 1/4" Thermal Protector 2 Neutral Purple 5 3 Heater Red 2 4 Heater Red 1 7 Push to Start Orange 6
Any idea where I should connect red/white wire that comes from thermostat?

I checked out the old motor and discovered the terminal the red/white wire was on is the same point electrically as the point the red wire was connected to. I suppose I will reterminate both wires together and connect to the same terminal on the new motor.
