Model Number: TEDS740PQ0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
I'm not sure if I have one problem or two. My Whirlpool dryer seems to runs fine, but it has no heat in any cycle. The timer does not advance in any cycle as well, and dryer continues to run. Thanks for any help and insight.

Hi Bern
Let's see if we can fix your heating problem and then see if you still have the timer problem. You will need an electrical meter to troubleshoot, and here's what I suggest you do. 1. Check to make sure you have 120 volts to each side of the connection block. 2. Then unplug the dryer and take off the back and test the thermal fuses/thermostats for continuity. 3. If they check out, test the heating element for continuity, ohms (between 12 and 20 usually) and see that it is not broken or grounded. One of these should fix you up. Good luck, let us know if you need more info.
