dryer willnot turn on
Model Number: nvl333eyoww Brand: Hotpoint Age: 5 - 10 years
go to turn the dryer knob setting and all it does is spins around and unable to get to a setting to turn on. on switch was still working. I need help in tips on how to repair this myself.

Remove the knob and try to turn it with a pair of piers to see if it will work. If it will inspect the switch shaft for damage, if the shaft looks ok just replace the knob. If the shaft is damaged replace the switch.
Note do not continue to use the pliers because if the shaft isn’t already damaged the pliers will and you will end up having to replace the switch. If turning the shaft with the pliers doesn’t work post back and we will go from there. Clothes Dryer Repair Guide
