On the GE's it is probably going to be the motor. Try to manually get the dryer to turn by having a friend push the start switch while you push in the door switch and manually turn the drum. BE CAREFUL!!! If it starts, you are going to need a new motor.

Thanks for your reply. To my dispay, I thought it might be the starter switch and I removed it, now I cannot put it back because two little metal bars fell out and I don't know how to put them back. If I manage to get them back in, I will try your method.
