Model Number: GLGR642ASO Brand: Frigidaire Age: 5 - 10 years
My gas dryer is tumbling but not generating any heat. Already read some similar posts and performed some troubleshooting. Began by checking to ensure lint trap and vents were not obstructed. They were not obstructed but I cleaned all lint. Then I checked the Ignitor flame sensor with the ohmmeter. Not very experienced with this diagnostic but here are the readings I got with my digital multimeter:
Igniter = 65 Ohms Flame sensor = 0.3 Ohms Based on what I came across on the How to Check Continuity with Ohmmeter post, these look to be good. Can someone confirm my findings? Are there any other parts that I can check/rule out? I noticed other posts mentioned that the igniter glowed - - is there a way I can check this? Thanks in advance for any help. You might find a small plastic piece on the left bottom of the dryer front. Pull this off and see if the igniter is glowing. If so and the gas never ignites, you probably have a bad igniter, AP3674313.

I ran the dryer with the top open and saw that after a few minutes of running the dryer the igniter lit up for a few seconds, no more than five and then I heard a click and it went out. I observed the dryer for a few minutes and saw this happen 2 or three times. Any ideas what may be the cause?

Thanks for the info. but after reading several other posts, I decided I'd try to change the coils. Was at the part store when you posted your last reply but I replaced both coils and it seems to be working. Thanks for all direct and indirect posts.
