I have a Fridgedair electric dryer FSE446RHS2. When it is first started it makes a thumping sound, one thump per revolution of the drum. Does this suggest a bad or failing belt, or the drum bearing, or what. The thump goes away after a few minutes. The dryer is about 9 years old.

I've replaced a belt on another dryer some years ago. While it was no fun I am confident of being able to fix this bad boy.

Thanks for any help!
