I have a GE dryer that was bought used a few years ago. It worked great and still does dry clothes but now there is the HORRIBLE shrill sound that comes from it and no matter what I can't make it stop!! I'm a family of 5 and need to have a functioning dryer that I can use at night. On top of the "new noise" it's creating the timer has NEVER worked since I bought it.

Should I spend the time to fix the "shrill" and the timer or just try to buy another used one? I really enjoy this dryer and want to do the most cost effective thing.

Please help!!! The clothes are piling up!
