I answered that in a hurry and now that I think about it maybe I should clear this up. The drum will turn manually but it will not turn under motor power. When I push the button to turn it on, the switch is what lightly hums not the motor.

Sounds like either a bad start winding in the motor, or oil got on the centrifical switch thus burning it out.
If you leave the motor hum, does it heat up and shut down? Pull the dryer apart and see if the motor is seized, or something jamming it. Here are some parts motor 279827, start switch 3388235 The start switch is almost as expensive as the motor.

Open the door. Have someone help you by pushing the door switch, simulating a closed door. As you push the start button, have your helper rotate the drum to see if it will begin to tumble. If you are able to do this, replace the motor. Please post your results.
