My natural gas dryer is running but its not heating up. I have replaced electric elements but not familar with gas. Is the element called a burner? and is that all I will need to get to replace the old one. I noticed it had other parts with it listed such as bracket and saftey valves. I am pretty sure its just the component to heat the dryer.

There are a few parts in your dryer which can cause such problem. You have to have a simple ohmmeter to perform the troubleshooting and avoid buying unneeded parts. Let us know when you ready and we'll guide you through.

There are 6 parts which you have to check for continuity. The following article on our forum will explain in detail how to run a continuity test using either an analog meter or a digital meter - How To Check Continuity With OhmmeterThese parts are: the thermal fuse, the cycling thermostat, the hi-limit thermostat, the thermal cut-off, the flame sensor (#7, #9, #15, #17 & #49 on the diagram) and the igniter (#4 on the diagram). Any of these parts which would not pass the test has to be replaced. - The thermal fuse Part number: AP3132867
