Hi, I've checked the manual for our kitchenaid dryer, model kehs02rwh1 and run through all the troubleshooting steps. When I press the control on button to turn on the machine, none of the lights on the front panel turn on. The exception is if I press the cycle end button for three seconds, the control locked button light turns on.

I've checked the breaker, no issues.
The light turns on in the dryer when I open the door.

Suggestions for what I should be looking for when I pull it out and take off the back panel?

Take the bottom front cover off. then open the door and take the filter out. Then where the filter slides into, which you will be viewing with the front off is black, and there are usually 2 or 3 screws holding the lint filter assembly in place. Remove them, and the lint filter assembly, and once yoy remove it, you will see a little white part, and it is about an inch and a half long, and a half inch wide. That is the thermal fuse. The part # is 3392519. Make sure you unplug the dryer before doing this. If you have an ohm meter, pull the wires off, of the thermal fuse, an see if there is any continuity. If not, that is the problem. If you don't, take the 2 wires off of the thermal fuse, and put the 2 terminal ends together, and wrap some tape around them, so the metal ends don't hit any metal and short out. Then plug it in, and see if it works. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Thanks Tom for your quick response. Really appreciate it.
Removed the toe panel and the lint collector as you directed, located the fuse part and removed it. Don't have an ohm meter so taped the two connectors together and then turned the power back on to the dryer. It still didn't work. I removed the tape and then tried it again just in case the first time, they weren't connecting. It still didn't work.

Do you have another suggestion? Again, thanks for the response. Appreciate your time.

So you held the END OF CYCLE SIGNAL for 3 seconds until the CONTROL LOCKED Status light turns off, and the controls still don't work? If that does not work, the only thing I can think of is the control board.. Part # 8546219. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
