Model Number: LDE590 Brand: Maytag Age: More than 10 years
The black wire connecting to the heating element terminal keeps burning off. Have already replace Hi-temp thermostat.

Hi Ducky
That is not good as it indicates too much current. Even worse, I don't have a lot of good ideas, but the best thought is to check the heating element for grounding. If you want to keep the machine, even if you do not find anything, your best bet might be to replace the heater assembly. Part number: AP4290655 It is not great expense and it just might fix the problem.
