Dryer getting hot, but having to run an extra cycle
Model Number: ferb5700ds0 Brand: Frigidaire Age: 5 - 10 years
My dryer is getting hot, but lately I've been having to run the clothes and extra 20-40 minutes for all of the clothes to dry. I'm thinking the thermostat needs replacing, but I don't want to drop the $40 for it if that is not the problem.

Before replacing any parts I would check the dryer vent and blower housing for lint build up. On your dryer also check behind the drum and around the heater assembly.

I just replaced the vent hose a few weeks ago. I'll check that again. I've tried running a vent snake through to the outside of the house, but I'm unable to feed it through. The vent goes up through the attic and out to the roof. Is there an easy way to clean those?

Here is a nice kit for cleaning vents. In the same topic it shows a guy using air to clean the duct work from the outside.
