Default Dryer not drying
Model Number: LGR3624 JQ1   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 1 - 5 years

Wow - this is a brilliant forum. Initial problem was the automatic dry time not working. Now, my dryer is taking at leat 2 cycles to dry properly. Vents and lint areas have been thoroughly cleaned. I have ran it on a dry cycle, without the vent hose attached and checked the inside of the dryer intermittently, sometimes initially it's hot and then it remains cold. I can smell gas after about 20 mins.

it has not dried the clothes with the vent off and the gas smell appears to be coming from the insode of the dryer.

Remove the little access white plastic cover on the front panel on the bottom and check the flame, should be blueish. If it goes out after a short period of time, you need to replace the gas valve coils. Just click on your model # to get the part no's.
