control panel

Model Number: LDG9900BAW Brand: Maytag Age: More than 10 years

My touch screen has been getting dimmer and dimmer over the last several years, now it can hardly be seen. Is it the control panel or could it be the transformer?
Does the transformer ramp down the power to the control board?
