Samsung dryer is not drying. Thermistor does not have continuity. Is this switch normally open or closed.

Dave, A thermistor has a preset resistance range , and should not be either an open or closed circuit. At room Temperature(78 dgrs.) there should ba a resistance of 10,000 ohms across the two terminals, with the wires disconnected. The thermistor has a negative coefficient, so as the temp. increases, the resistance decreases. The control board circuit is looking for a specific range of resistance to determine the condition of the heat and temperature being produced so the dryer will work most efficiently.
