Model Number: ADE7005AYW Brand: Admiral Age: 5 - 10 years
Recently I noticed that the dryer stopped producing heat when it was in use. I also noticed the timer switch never moves and the dryer will run all day if you let it. Not certain if the two issues are related, but need to know where to check first. Dryer tumbles and moves fine, just no heat and won't stop until the door is opened.

Here are your parts includes a wiring diagram.
Replacement parts for ADMIRAL ADE7005AYW DRYER- ELE | AppliancePartsPros.com When the timer does not run is the unit in an auto mode? The reason I ask is that the timer motor gets it's power from the Normally Open contacts in the cycling thermostat so if they never open it does not advance. Try it in timed dry, now does it advance? If yes then the problem is in the heating circuit. First I would check the power to the unit as the heater requires the full 240 volts. Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Do this with the heater off and on. Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!! If OK. Unplug the unit and one side of the heating coil and check it. It should be around 10 ohms. If OK. Check the hi-limit and cycling thermostats. Both should be 0 ohms. Be sure to measure the Common and Normally Closed contacts on the cycling thermostat.
