Dryer quits when on automatic setting, after 10-15 minutes. It began doing this sporadically a few months ago, now is every time I use automatic setting. Clothes are warm inside. When using timed setting, dryer will run full amount of time and clothes are dry.

Pulled back off, vent is not blocked, very little lint behind back panel, checked all connections all tight, checked all sensors that I could see from the back all came up with 0 to 10 ohms resistance, heater element was around 15-20, 220 volts at the plug, all with a digital multimeter.

With vent disconnected, and turned on, hot air is coming out of vent, can see heating element on, drum is turning, lint has to be cleaned out after drying a load.

Is this a timer issue or is there a temperature/dampness sensor somewhere that I need to check that I haven't found that is cutting off the automatic timer. Or is it something completely different.
