You will need an ohm meter to do some testing.
1. Check to make certain that you have 120 to each side of the connection block. Then unplug the machine. 2. Check your fuses and thermostats, particularly the thermal fuse. 3. If you do not find the problem, check your heating element for resistenance, and make certain it is not grounded. It is highly likely you will find the problem. Yes, if this is a gas dryer (we did not have the model number) look at some of the posts on heating problems with gas dryers to check out that part of your machine (I do not work on gas appliances so I can only point you to the posts)
