Maytag Gas Dryer. Have problem with rumbling noise. When first started it makes normal turning noises. After a few minutes it starts making a low pitched rumbling noise. NOT a SCREECHING noise. I have replaced the idler pulley assembly and the drum belt. I have cleaned the inside of both drum rollers and applied a thin layer of Hi-Temp lithium grease to both rollers and the idler pulley. The motor shaft turns freely and smoothly. Have read about possible rounding of plastic blower shaft bushing. This unit looks like the blower is screwed onto the motor shaft...not loose. Felt on drum looks OK. Unit dries clothes Ok but the noise sounds like its has problems. There is no rear inspection cover to remove. Blower is clean and exhaust is un- clogged. Am running out of ideas. Do you have any?????

Have since discovered that noises are heat sensative. If dryer is run on air only there is no unusual noises. Also when gas flame is off during cycling and unit cools down until thermostat starts the flame again the noise subsides. When normal heat is reached the noise gets worse again.
