Dryer was not heating. Pulled off the front cover and the insulation on the Black wire that connects to a jumper wire and to the Terminal insulator on the left side of the Heater Chamber was burnt about 2" up and had broken at the solderless connector.
I trimmed off the burnt portion of the wire and replaced the solderless connector and the dryer works again. However, that does not fix whatever caused the wire to burn up in the first place. It is making me a little nervous b/c I have a friend who just lost his house due to a bad dryer repair job. Does anyone have an idea what might have caused this?
