Model Number: LE7010XSW0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
I have a Whirlpool electric dryer that works fine except when the cycle is done the buzzer won't stop until the door is opened. Turning the timer knob to off does not stop it. It used to buzz for about 20 seconds and stop. Is this a bad timer or the start switch? Any help would be great. The timer is about $100. Don't buy the wrong part! Thanks!

Does your dryer start when you select a cycle-w/o pushing the start switch? If so, your Push to Start switch may be bad.(shorted contact)
I've seen this a lot on that type of dryer.. wrench |

Bentwrench, I checked the dryer last night and you are correct. The dryer will run in any cycle without pushing the start button. Looks like I will be replacing that switch. Thanks for the help, I would have just replaced the timer and wasted about $100.
