This old gas dryer has a burner valve type 689792.
The replacement coil kit is 279137
When I remove one of the old coils, gas escapes around the vale stem.
There is an "O-ring" around the stem.
Is this the seal for the gas?
Should gas be able to escape at this point?
Is the valve internally damaged?
I would have thought the stem would be isolated from contact with gas.
Does anyone have a drawing showing the valve's construction?
