No heat
Model Number: MDE6700AYW Brand: Maytag Age: 1 - 5 years
Replaced part#AP4045859 dried one load and quit heating again. The same part failed again. I've checked all the common items and even bypassed the fuse to check the element and it seems to be cycling on for about 5 seconds at a time. You can hear the thermostat click and kill power to the element then after about 30 seconds the element heats back up. Is this cycling of power to element normal or should it stay on for longer period of time? Is it normal for the thermostat on the element heat shield to control the heating cycle or is it controled elsewhere?
