The starter knob came off and when I tried to push it back on the post, the post was loose and then fell back into the machine. This is a spring timer which turns right to turn the motor on and then snaps back to it's original position. Is it difficult to remove the top panels and then replace the switch if that's what I need?

I cannot find any info on the given model number, please check it. Model Number LocatorBe sure to unplug the machine so you do not have a short circuit in the unit and cause more damage. Once you figure out how to open the control console it should be relatively easy. Perhaps try Youtube just search using "ge dryer repair" |
