I have 3 leg power cord and the house I moved into has a 4 pronged power outlet. Can I install a new cord with a red ,black, white. & green wires. My dryer only has black , white, & green legs. If so where do I connect the red wire to in the back of the dryer?

Cannot say without a Model Number

Is this an electric dryer that runs on 240 volts?
The reason I ask is that the color code on most 240 volt dryers is,
L1 = Black, L2 = Red , Neutral = White
A Model Number may help to ensure you have the correct wiring.
