Default Whirlpool Dryer Element On All the Time
Model Number: LEC6848AQ1   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a Whirlpool dryer model LEC6848AQ1 and for about three weeks now, the heating element will stay on all the time even when the dryer was not on. I have had to unplug the dryer when it is not in use. I was wondering if anyone out there knows what could be going on? I replaced the heating element about four months ago and have not had a problem until three weeks ago. I would appreciate any help that can be provided on this subject. Thanx much.

How is your vent ? How long is it?check to see if it,s clear i would say the element is shorted to ground what happens is that there is excessive heat build up in the element housing causing the element coil to sag and touch the housing.
