Model Number: GEW9250PW1 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
I have a Whirlpool Duet Electric dryer. GEW9250PW1. Over the weekend the northeast had a snow storm. During it I had partial power to my house. Only one hot leg coming into the house. We eventually lost all power. Once the power was restored the dryer will not turn on. No lights inside, no lights on panel. I was able to test that power is getting from the outlet to where to cord attaches to the machine. Everything I have read posts that say it might be the control panel, control board or thermal fuse. How do I know which one is causing the issue.
Before the storm the dryer did work. It was not running during the partial outage. Ads By Google Related Models |

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL GEW9250PW1 ELECTRIC DRYER | AppliancePartsPros.com See the attachment for the tech sheet. Since you have lost both the control board and the drum light I would recheck the power. Sounds like you are missing the 120 volts between L1 and Neutral. If the power is OK then check the door switch. Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Do this with the heater off and on. Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!!

You are welcome.
Glad to hear you are up and running. And thanks for getting back to us. Now when others search for a similar problem they will see what actually worked instead of just suggestions about what could be the cause.
